NY Fashion Week Fall 2009 Runway Shows

The much anticipated New York Mercedes Benz Fashion Week began on February the 13th, showcasing Fall 2009 runway collections from high profile designers like Jason Wu and Rodarte as well as fashion veterans Dianne Von Furstenberg, Marchesa, etc. This event, a bit subdued amid the financial gloom and void of fashion powerhouses who opted out this year for smaller, more private shows -- like Vera Wang, continued on to define and mold trends for the upcoming fall season!

Rich, lavish colors -- velvet and rouge reds, dark tones, deep colored metallics seem to capture a new level of seriousness. Another common theme among designers this year is fur. I know animal lovers might be cringing at this moment, but designers will never cease to include hints of regal texture in their line-up.

How do you feel about the Fashion Week presentation this year?

Pleasantly surprised? Understated? Overrated? Please share your thoughts!

Angel Jackson - Lust for Luxe Handbags

London-based designers, Katie and Millie Smith launched their accessories label, Angel Jackson, in 2005 with the hope of doing what they love while empowering and assisting the poor in Bali, Indonesia -- a place where their hearts were. They set up shop ensuring that their company was to manufacture based upon the principles of fair trade and ethical working conditions. Their solid working foundation has been one of the main reasons why their company has grown in great magnitude over the last few years. The other portion of their overwhelming success is the by-product of their creative minds, their ability to innovate and continuously create trend-setting designs.

The use of vibrant ethnic colors, exotic snakeskin, feathers and quality suede are all perfect reasons why these designs are made for the beautiful, exquisite femme fatale.

Lucky for us, they've just opened their online store! Sure the gorgeous accessories are sold in British £, but hey, maybe the conversions will work your way in this dour economy! Check out their new gorgeous ad campaign as well!
