Je T'aime Jerome Dreyfuss

I'm endlessly inspired by people who take risks and succeed! Jerome Dreyfuss was a bit discontent with his career a few years ago and decided to pursue his love for art and design. He began his venture in Paris and used his interest in design to create his own handbag label. Jerome committed the notice of small boutique shops and soon flourished as he acquired a group of loyal followers.

Dreyfuss's main inspiration for fall 2008 came from his admiration of 40s to 60s furniture and decor. His designs are very much in short supply, so if you ever get a chance to go to Paris, you know what to set your heart on. However, if your heart can't wait, you can always come here, Mick Margo Online! His bags come with a $600-700 pricetag, but I can truthfully say that it'll be worth it. Oh, you might want to check out eBay too!

You'll probably also want to visit his future Jerome Dreyfuss Online Store and patiently await for him to set up shop.

Raindrops Fallin' On My Head..

On my last trip to NYC, I decided to buy myself a pair of Hunter boots. New Yorker's probably see a 100% more rain than where I'm from, but these were just too cute to miss the ride with me back home. These are the most comfortable, colorful, waterproof, reliable pair of boots I've ever owned.

A wonderful group of passerby's asked me where I got them from and for how much. Thankfully, you don't have to fly cross country for these anymore. Try finding your pair on Zappos! You definitely won't be having wet feet this season!

Dreams Start Young for Treesje

A simple collaboration between two ladies devoted to fashion led their designs to handbag stardom. These handbags now adorn the arms of Hollywood starlets and are the "you complete me" to their outfits. The colors range from pearl, chocolate to cobalt blue and come in several different sizes.

The generous amount of zipper-age goes well with the rock-and-roll, motorcycle, and bad girl look. Well thought out compartments makes Treesje a maker of one of the most practical handbags a girl can have. There's a pocket for each item that you're carrying! Thinking to try a few different designers? Treesje would be a good start.

From left to right, Marseille Plum, $650, Hudson Chocolate, $635, Asher Blue, $595.

Make Me a Bold Statement Please

This season is all about the bold factor. Bold colors, bold designs, anything bold! This is just one of many ways that we can accessorize for the fall season.

Designs are by Orange Peel Enamel and Kilnenamel. Necklaces go for $36 and earrings for $34. The necklaces really enhance the neckline, while the earrings would give your outfit just the right dose of personality.

Stepping into Fashion 2008

One designer stepped it up a notch with their RTW (Ready-To-Wear) selection for Fall 2008.

..and the winner is....Chloe!

I'm normally not a fan of ankle boots, but these Chloe's knocked me off of my feet. The choice is yours to go avante garde or feminine chic. One thing is for certain, you'll be the sexiest woman walking on any street.

Dress them up with a pair of vibrant & colorful skinny jeans or tights and you'll be good to go!

Find your new Chloe shoes at Netaporter!

Fashion Runway Sneak Peek Spring 2009

It's a little premature to introduce the Spring 2009 collections, but I couldn't help myself (and this is pretty much how the entire fashion industry runs). Check out the Spring 2009 NYC Fashion Runway Collection on your spare time. Here were some of my favorite looks to ring in the spring time next year. Lots of short one piece skirts, vibrant enduring colors and some subtle pure palettes. I decided to throw in a couple designers that were relatively anonymous to the mass market. Milly & Twinkle give the household named designers a definite run for their money. They truly impressed me with their use of color, fabric and design.

Perseverance & Saying G'bye to Naysayers

As long as we're on the topic of taking risks and pursuing our dreams, we can talk about how to deal with successes and failures. I recently was chatting to my best friend on a car ride down from San Francisco about my future plans [after a fantastic meal at Clementine's, a lovely French restaurant]. I went through the lengths of describing my dream job and what I was finally going to do to make it happen. What she said after listening to my long-winded speech was memorable. I thought it'd be good to share with those of you who might be encountering the same period in your lives.

There's no doubt that someday you'll be pursuing something that you love and find meaningful. However, with successes, comes failures and comes hardship. Please don't forget to persevere. If you never learn how to weather storms, you will never come face to face with success.

As you start your venture, there will be naysayers'. Leave them at home and bring your positive attitude with you. Let the yeasayers’ give you the encouragement that you need. Let their support fuel you with the determination and focus that is necessary to achieve your ultimate goal.

Learn how to differentiate criticism and constructive criticism. Take seriousness in constructive feedback as they usually come from people who know what they're doing.

Oh, and one more thing, don't forget the f
riends who continuously stand by you and provide you with the strength that you need to fight the battles.

New York Mercedes Benz Fashion Week

Oh dear, someone please stop me from hallucinating! This event is the culmination of every fashion designers' last wish. One can only keep on wishing..and hoping..and praying..and the whole she-bang for the one and only chance to adorn that fashion runway with their most exquisite collection. Here are a few designers' that I absolutely adore and their 2008 NY Fashion Week Debut.

Monique Lhuillier and her yards and yards of tuelle. How could she possibly go wrong?

monique lhuillier

Here's someone that juxtaposes feminine grace with bold colors. Who says you can't look ladylike with a little bit of funk!

Enjoy the eye candy girls (and boys maybe)..

Carpe Diem-ed in Amsterdam

Once in awhile you'll come across something absolutely breathtaking. While I was walking on the streets of Amsterdam, I noticed a stockpile of ornamental birds at the Flower Market. Had I been focused on the next tourist destination, I would've missed all the beautiful moments along the way. Take a moment. Get inspired. Keep it moving!

This is somehow going to be the inspiration to my future clothing line. Boy, am I hustling now...!

Dreamers

What do you do with a dream you've had since you were 10 years old? Or your daydreams while sitting at your cube? For some of you.. it might have been something that you've sacrificed as your life got too busy, having children, the 9 to 7 job, etc. Many of us go through life faced down, often times forgetting to come up for a breath of fresh air. Let's not wait until you're older than you think you ought to be. Do yourself a favor...pursue your dreams now!

Studio Purpura is as close as it gets to realizing my dreams. I'm delighted to share my future with you all. I hope it brings as much pleasure to you, as it does me. Here I've created an ensemble as a tribute to my aspirations. Whimsical, natural...and pure.
